FON-9095 Palace Cream ceramic wall tile 25x40cm by by Çanakkale Seramik (Turkey).
A glazed ceramic field tile with a flat gloss finish. As a digitally printed stone-effect tile, the Palace Cream imitates natural travertine, an Italian limestone marble named after the Roman city of Tibur (modern-day Tivoli) which the Colosseum in Rome is built of. Natural travertine can be cross-cut or vein-cut depending on how the blocks are sawn when quarried. The Palace Cream imitates cross-cut travertine meaning the natural veining is avoided when cut which produces a clouded appearance which has been honed. Tiles like the Palace Cream which look like polished marble are great in any bathroom adding an element of luxury without the maintenance demanded by real travertine.
Çanakkale Seramik is named after the Turkish coastal city of Çanakkale where its first factory was founded in 1957. Since then it has grown phenomenally to become part of the Kale Group, a collection of established brands producing some of the world’s most popular tile ranges.
