Rainer Perla wood-effect floor tile 20x120cm by Pamesa Ceramica (Spain).
A porcelain plank tile with a matt finish and frost-proof glaze. Through modern manufacturing and inkjet technology, wood-effect tiles like this can capture the beauty of natural wood. The Rainer Perla has a subtle grain texture with a light colour similar to softwoods such as larch and maple. If tiling the Painer Perla in brickbond, do not use an overlap of greater than 25% as these tiles are not rectified. Plank tiles like this do not require sealing and cannot warp or rot like real wood.
Frost-proof tiles like this are an important consideration for rooms where the temperature may drop below zero such as utility rooms and conservatories. Tiles with a frost-proof glaze have a water absorption rate of less than 0.5% meaning they are ideal for such conditions. Tiles which are not frost-proof may absorb water which would freeze at zero and below, causing the tile to crack.
